Since new regulations were put in place for cosmetic practitioners by AHPRA (July 1st 2023), you may have noticed some new terminology being used in advertising.

Providing anatomically correct wording on advertising is now mandatory.

Now is a great time to start becoming familiar with some of the most common terminology that you may encounter such as;

Frontalis = the striated muscle across the forehead that is responsible for the raising of the eyebrows (the 'forehead').

Glabella = the muscle complex between the eyebrows that is responsible for the pulling inward and down of the brows (the 'frown').

Orbicularis Oculi = the sphincter muscle that surrounds the eye area resp for contraction of the upper and lower eyelids (the 'crows feet').
