We had a busy day at YJN! today as our participants set up their own YJN! cafe at Hub31 and made toasties and coffees for Head Office (next door!) Orders were taken the day before and each one was personally delivered to the grateful Head Office staff over lunch today.

Participants enjoyed working together, learning great skills on the way (from teamwork, communication and problem solving), all while gaining experience in the Hospitality sector.

It was truly reminiscent of a commercial kitchen with lots of work happening, fantastic smells and a little bit of managed chaos! Feedback was glowing and a big thank you to Employment Coaches Jackson, Sophy & Christine for making this happen!

We’ve had a busy start at our Hub31 site delivering the first integrated program for both the Dandenong Day Service and Youth Jobs Now! participants.

Our new ‘Wellness in the Workplace’ program is running for the next 10 weeks. The content is highly visual, creative, and carefully developed to capture all learning abilities.

Its aim is to encourage young people with disabilities to be the BEST versions of themselves through teamwork, socialisation and having fun.

⭐PINCH PUNCH FIRST OF THE MONTH! ⭐

Our participants visited the Disability Hub at Springvale Library. Our host Meenah was very welcoming, and the group participated, enjoyed morning tea, and learnt of the services offered by City of Greater Dandenong Libraries. Meenah encouraged our group to offer feedback on what future opportunities they would like to see at the libraries.

We had a blast!
