A Universal Basic Income would protect everyone’s right to an acceptable standard of living - The Pen 06/06/2018

The givers of generosity comes from the the people who have the least amount of money but a lot of love and kindness. The people with the most money are the greediest and are do not the empathy or compassion to fully understand the plight of people who are struggling to make ends meet. (ie) people on the award wage fixed incomes the elderly, people with disabilities.. Please take time to read this article as it relates to all of us who spend most our money on the cost of living!!! rent ,electricity and not much left for other necessities. Take care and believe in your abilities stay away from the NAY Sayers and the negative people who continually tell you "you cant do that" that won"t work!!!!

What is there to say the rich are getting richer and the poor and middle income earners are living week to week. Like many who are employed on a casual basis and receiving adjusted centrelink payments each fortnight is not enough too make ends meet. Also when there is reduced work to a minimum of 3 hrs and sometimes 4 hrs @ 23 dollars an hour before tax its a impossible to pay rent and living costs. Also if u are casual like myself there is no entitlements except superannuation and no sick leave!!! The government does not care about people on fixed incomes and have not provided the opportunity for people wanting to go into full time employment (because there isn't any along the Mornington peninsula.) So I encourage all of u to get behind The Pen and use your voices to speak up for an increase in all fixed incomes and tell your circumstances of how u and your Family are struggling to make ends meet and the consequences it has for Families trying to stay together to give their children a decent quality of life.

Getting older what happens for some of us? It is a happy time for some of us it can also be a very lonely time especially if u have no loved ones to support and keep u company . The concept of old age and loneliness is in some cases go hand in hand and begs the question how can governments/communities make the life of older people more comfortable in their old age. Why am I raising this issue ? A recent show on the 7 30 pm report was a discussion about assisted su***de and euthanasia both very complex ethical issues for Doctors, loved ones. The issue of dying was discussed by various people including a Priest and a Doctor most individuals on the panel were against the individual taking their life by assisted dying. In this specific case the individual was in his 90 s and has organized for his life to end in another country which is legally sanctioned and carried out by qualified practitioner to assist another person to die, I believe it is up to the individual/s when the elderly either have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and who has had all the necessary treatments, and still this person is aware he or she is dying and is expected to prolong their existence. I understand the ethical issues for practitioners who are opposed to assisted dying/euthanasia but at the end of the day growing old is meant to be a glorious time of life! I have so much to say on this difficult emotional/ethical issue on the concept of assisted dying. What do others think about" old age" and assisted dying.?" and ones quality of life or NOT.

We Live in a sick country when parents and others continue to sexually abuse young children here in Australia. As recently viewed on the commercial channels of a young 8 year old been drugged by the violent perpetrators including the child " MOTHER" and stepfather and others, engaged in brutal savage acts including taking videos which have been put out for others to view. Someone brought this heinous act to the polices attention and have placed the child and another child in a safe place. Why do people continue to turn a blind eye to such violent acts or who know of such scum engaging in either sexual abuse to minors and/or publicizing videos of sexual acts on minors. What future do these young children have to enjoy respectful healthy relationships in their adult lives!!!!!!! Continue to give these children a voice and believe and listen to their story's because it will be the truth!!!! If you turn them away the child/ren will retract their statements and continue to be vulnerable to perpetrators!!!!! in in some instances their own parents including women. I hope these abused children receive JUSTICE in the court system . I would recommend the DEATH Penalty and /or a bashing by other prisoners who have zero tolerance to such despicable obscene sexual abuse against children.
