I tried something new for my workout this morning! ⁣

Before I got there I had all these thoughts and doubts racing through my head like:⁣
🔸What if I'm terrible? ⁣
🔸What if no-one talks to me? ⁣
🔸What if I fall on my face? ⁣

Of course, everyone was lovely and helpful and I didn't fall on my face 😅 ⁣

But it got me thinking about these limiting beliefs and how they can so easily stop us from doing the things we want to do. ⁣

Whether it's joining a gym or taking a new class, we talk ourselves out of it before we even begin because it's something new and our of our comfort zone. ⁣

Of course we aren't going to be the best at something the first time we do it! We're going to face challenges and make mistakes (and maybe fall on our face!) but that shouldn't stop us from trying. ⁣

Every single person doubts themselves from time to time. ⁣

But if we let our doubts stop us from taking action before we're the best at something, we'll never know what we can do and we'll miss out on a lot of experiences. ⁣

I'm not saying that getting these two donuts for less than $1 was the highlight of my trip to Mexico, buy I'm not *not* saying that either 🤫⁣

There's a running joke amongst my friends about how I eat - I'm always up for trying new burger places, dessert is my favourite meal, I plan holidays around places I want to eat, and I once made a two hour round trip just to buy some cookies 💁🏼‍♀️⁣

I love food and I love finding new and ridiculous foods to try. It's also something my husband and I love to do together (we went to Chicago a few years ago for the sole reason of eating deep dish pizza). ⁣

I used to be so stressed about food and trying to be smaller that I didn't enjoy going out and I felt so guilty for eating anything that was "junk" food that holidays were a smouldering cauldron of stress and self-loathing. ⁣

By learning to incorporate these foods into my diet in moderation, I realised that most of the time, I just wanted to taste something and that would be enough; I didn't have to eat the whole thing. I stopped having an all or nothing mentality.⁣

Those cookies I drove 2 hours for? They lasted close to two weeks because I ate a little bit at a time. These donuts? I had a few bites and left the rest. ⁣

Turns out I can have my cake and eat it too. ⁣
