Last night, we gathered with our esteemed guest, Habib Jindan bin Novel bin Jindan, for a beautiful reminder on the topic: โ€œPurifying the Heart in a Distracted World.โ€

Habib reminded us that everything around us is a creation of Allah. The world we see, the blessings we enjoy, and even we ourselves are all created by Him. A person of sound intellect reflects upon these signs and asks: Why were we created? What is the purpose of our existence?

Habib gave the parable of a phone โ€” a device created with a specific purpose and function. It should be used to fulfil the purpose for which it was created; otherwise, it merely becomes wasted and neglected. Likewise, mankind was not created without purpose. Allah created us with a higher purpose: to know Him, worship Him, and return to Him.

Part of fulfilling that purpose is through gatherings such as these โ€” gathering in the houses of Allah between the blessed times of Maghrib and โ€˜Isha, reciting the Qurโ€™an, engaging in dhikr, learning the religion, and surrounding ourselves with righteous company. These gatherings nurture the heart and produce something many people spend their lives searching for: true happiness and tranquillity.

Habib also reminded us that many people assume wealth, status, and material pursuits will bring lasting happiness. Yet if our hearts remain empty despite these things, then perhaps it is a sign that we need to work harder in fulfilling the purpose for which we were created, and not work towards what isn't our purpose and function.

Many thanks to Manawa Rahmah Perth WA for organising this wonderful gathering.

May Allah purify our hearts, keep us firm upon His remembrance, and allow us to always find peace in His obedience, Ameen

A distracted worldโ€ฆ but the heart still longs for clarity.

Join us for an evening with Habib Jindan bin Novel bin Jindan as we reflect on what it means to purify the heart โ€” to return to sincerity, ุญุถูˆุฑ, and connection with Allah.
