ππΌ WORLD BEE DAY πΌπ
At Sesame Lane Redcliffe, we love creating meaningful learning experiences that connect our children with the world around them and this week we celebrated our tiny but mighty pollinators! ππ
We are so grateful to be part of a special partnership with Teralba Bees, helping our children learn about the important role bees play in pollination, sustainability, and caring for our environment. π±π―
To celebrate World Bee Day, Amber and her daughter Ruby generously gifted our service a beautiful box filled with felt bees, delicious local honey, and gorgeous honey dippers for the children to explore and enjoy. πβ¨
A huge thank you to Amber, Ruby, and Teralba Bees for supporting our centre and helping spark curiosity, learning, and conversations about nature and sustainability within our kindergarten community. ππ»
βοΈποΈ Did You Know? π§©π¨
Supporting fine motor development is about so much more than just learning to write a name! Before children can confidently hold a pencil and form letters, there are many important foundational skills they need to develop first βοΈ
At our Kindergarten Hub, we support fine motor skills through everyday play and experiences such as:
𧱠Building with blocks
βοΈ Cutting and gluing
ποΈ Drawing and painting
𧡠Threading and beading
π₯ Using tongs and utensils
𧩠Completing puzzles
πΏ Exploring natural materials
These activities help strengthen the small muscles in childrenβs hands and fingers, improve coordination, and build the control needed for future writing skillsπ
We believe learning happens through play, exploration and meaningful experiences, and every little activity helps prepare children for the next step in their learning journey βοΈ
