Behold on IWD the work of Magda and Dimitra, two fascinating artists working out of River Studios. We have very different techniques and experiences here, but a similar grasp for dedication and the inner senses.
🔸Magda Cebokli - "I whittle away at irrelevancies to produce series of paintings that appear minimal but whose surfaces are built up layer by meticulous layer, each painting speaking to a question raised by another."
🔸Dimitra Koriozos - "I suppose photographic narratives have always stayed with me as much as my favourite films or novels have. I’m quite a restless person and something about taking photos pacified me, which felt like a miracle at the time."

Boyd Community Hub is in Southbank and is reachable by trams 3 and 58, and buses 234 and 236. Once a busy school, Boyd is now home to studio artists, writers, and performers, Southbank Library, a maternal and family health centre and a cafe.
There's free wifi, wheelchair accessible lift and thoroughfares, as well as secure 24/7 access and a shared kitchen back-of-house.
With capacity for up to 25 people this space would suit medium-sized arts organisations, small organisations as well as collectives, and unions or partnerships formed amongst smaller organisations or individual artists. An ongoing engagement with and work in the community suits the place well and is highly desirable.
