Love this!

This is such a Melbourne scene… and as with most things in Melbourne, it comes with a story. But this one has a twist.
So, one day I came across this young man playing the piano accordion. I walked down the stairs into Centre Place and there he was on the left playing. I gestured to my camera and he smiled and nodded.
Then, as I always do, I tried to disappear so as to get a true photograph.
I walked down and away from him and waited for around 5 minutes, to a point where I knew he thought I’d left.
Then I took my photo.
I went and showed him and he loved it.
I dropped a coin or 2 in his case, thanked him, and walked on.
Not long after a phone company was having a street photography competition, the prize, 2 tickets to New York’
I entered this photo and won.
This photo flew me to New York.
As you can imagine, I bloody love this photo.
Taken in my favourite lane of my favourite subject… Humans.
Photography has taken me many places, I wonder where it will take me next.
