Perth Vocations Office

The Perth Vocations Office was proud to promote vocations at annual Sacred Heart Catholic College on Wednesday 20th May.

💜 Over 1100 students and their parents attended, to discover a potential career - many of whom interacted with us and heard about what the Church is doing for them in their journey of seeking what God may be asking from them.

Supporting the stall was Vocations Committee member Mrs Jane Borg, Principal of Acts2Come College in Osbourne Park.

✝ Being a priest may not seem like every man's career choice, yet Jesus continues to call to "come and follow him" in a radical selfless way.

💬 When Fr Brennan Sia first felt called to the priesthood, he was still in high school.

But life took him in another direction first. ⚗ He studied chemistry, became a qualified pharmacist, and spent several years working in the pharmaceutical industry — helping people, building a career, and living what many would consider a successful life.

Yet through it all, there remained a quiet sense that 💜 God was calling him to something more.

🙏 In 2006, Fr Brennan made the courageous decision to leave his career behind and enter the seminary. Today, after 10 years of priesthood, he’ll be sharing more of that journey — the joys, the challenges, and how God slowly led him to where he is now.

**“Every Family, Everywhere”**

Families are where life, faith, love, and vocation are first nurtured.

Whether through the witness of parents, grandparents, siblings, or the support of a wider community, it is often within family life that we first learn how to love, serve, forgive, and listen for God’s voice.

Pope Leo XIV in his words of "Families are the cradle of the future of humanity" reminds us that families are not simply social units, but places of encounter, hope, and faith—where people discover their dignity and their calling.

This National Families Week, let us give thanks for every family, everywhere—and pray that our homes and communities continue to be places where vocations can grow. 🙏
