The Principles of BOCCE
Bocce (bot – chee) is played between two players in the singles game, (or the exciting throwing games developed in the 1980s), or between teams of up to four people. The player aims to place the boccia (ball/bowl) as near as possible to the jack (target) in turn the opponent attempts to place their boccia nearer the jack, which may include displacing the opposition’s boccia. The boccia can be bowled along the ground or thrown through the air to displace the other boccia.

Leon, a member of our State Swimming Team, a dedicated Bocce player, and a Playing for All coach, recently took part in the IGA Community Chest initiative by visiting his local IGA and showing support for Special Olympics WA.
By choosing participating products like Golden Circle and M&M’s, Leon is helping raise funds that go directly towards supporting athletes in our community. It’s a simple act, but one that makes a real difference.
We’re incredibly proud of you, Leon 👏🏻, both for your achievements in sport and for the way you continue to give back and lead by example ✨
We’d love to see more of our athletes getting involved and being part of this amazing initiative.
