Sorry if you have already seen this post, I need everyone on both islands to read this, please share with freinds and family.

Important Notice – Changes to Cargo Deliveries at Freightshop.
Over the years Freightshop has tried to assist customers by accepting cargo that arrives at our warehouse without a completed shipper’s declaration or booking. We have been recording these items as “UDC” (Undeclared Cargo) and then spending time trying to contact the sender or receiver so the correct paperwork can be completed.
Unfortunately, this process is no longer sustainable.
We are now receiving a very large volume of undeclared cargo and it is taking significant time for our staff to track down contact details, request paperwork, and follow up with suppliers. In many cases we receive no response, which means cargo sits in our warehouse for long periods without instructions.

There are also important safety and compliance reasons for this change. When cargo arrives without a declaration we do not know what is inside the boxes. This makes it difficult for us to meet dangerous goods segregation requirements and manage our warehouse safely.
Additionally, cargo arriving without a formal booking means our terms and conditions have not been agreed to and no transport arrangements have actually been confirmed.
For these reasons Freightshop will soon no longer accept cargo delivered to our warehouse without a completed shipper’s declaration.

Before ordering goods from suppliers, customers should ensure that:
• The supplier is willing to fill in a shipper’s declaration, and it is completed PRIOR to delivery.
• The supplier includes the consignment number on all packages
• The driver delivering the cargo can quote the consignment number or provide the relevant paperwork.

If cargo is delivered without the consignment number clearly labelled, or the driver cannot provide the consignment number for the delivery, we will assume that a shipper’s declaration has not been completed and the cargo will not be accepted.

If Freightshop does not accept a delivery under these conditions, we will not be contacting the receiver to advise that the cargo has been rejected. It will be the responsibility of the supplier and receiver to communicate regarding the delivery.

This change will also allow us to introduce new automated systems for receiving and processing cargo more efficiently in the future.
We will provide further notice before this change takes effect to give suppliers and customers time to adjust their ordering process.

IMPORTANT REMINDER REGARDING NEXT WEEKS FREIGHTER

Hi All,
This is a reminder that next week’s freighter departs 24hrs earlier than usual, departing Thursday 2nd April. This means we must have all cargo received, processed, screened, and paid for 24hrs earlier.

Dangerous Goods need to be presented by noon this Friday 27th March at the absolute latest. Earlier is better as we already have a decent amount to certify.

Perishable Booking close Noon Monday 30th March, it is critical that your bookings reflect what you will be lodging. Last freighter 10 tonne of perishables were booked but only 8.5 tonne were presented. This caused serious headaches for Freightshop, the screeners and as a flow on QANTAS.

I was at QANTAS till 8pm on Thursday night rectifying issues they had.

ALL ambient must be presented by noon Monday the 30th

ALL Perishables need to be presented by noon Tuesday 31st March
ONLY lifesaving Medical and the few perishable suppliers we have contacted will be processed on Wednesday 1st April.

If volumes of Perishables presented on Wednesday are too high there is a good chance that they will not be processed in time and may miss the flight. The bottleneck that occurs in our warehouse flows onto the screeners and then QANTAS.

LATE DELIVERY IS NOT AN OPTION!
