So for all of you Kiwi's looking the Government's promised review of the income test for the special NZ PR visa it is being implemented from July 1, 2021. Some concessions have been created but not for the most recent income year, still the concessions should help many get across the line and onwards to PR.

Changes to income test for NZ's applying for Permanent Residency.
There have been a number of newspaper articles based on government press releases that there may be some concessions to the income test for NZ'ers wanting PR. Details are completely absent from these articles but we expect that when the budget is delivered in October the concession details will be made clear.

New Zealanders living in Australia. DON'T travel during COVD-19 travel bans.

The Home Affairs Depart has clarified and given more details on NZ’ers attempting to re-enter Australia, as follows:

A New Zealand citizen — usually resident in Australia
Details

New Zealand citizens who normally reside in Australia (subclass 444) can come to Australia. You must carry proof of residency (driver's licence or documents in relation to your residency). Present it at check-in.

Important: New Zealand citizens and permanent residents not living in Australia can only transit through Australia to return to New Zealand.
