The Raine Study
The Raine Study is the world's longest-running pregnancy and birth cohort study, and the most extensive ongoing survey of pregnancy, childhood, adolescence and adulthood to be carried out anywhere in the world. The Raine Study is a landmark longitudinal study, now 36 years strong, and has followed participants who have returned year after year since 1989-1991. Based in Western Australia, it is now uniquely advancing into a 3rd generation of research - a rare and globally significant achievement. Thanks to the support of the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and Telethon7 Perth we can continue these Generation 3 recruitment and assessments - work that has been underway since February 2024.
As Scientific Director Phillip Melton explains, "Ultimately, this research is about understanding how health develops, how it changes over time, and the factors that shape it. By providing this knowledge, your study helps inform targeted and timely approaches that support better health across the lifespan."
We give thanks to our Generation 2 families and the wider Raine Study community for helping make truly multigenerational research possible. ๐
