“How much?” she breathed, but nodded. “Fine, go ahead.” I dug in, and she watched — first doubtful, then stunned — hair clumps, sweat rolling, carpet waking up under steam. She couldn’t have done it herself. “Water?” she offered when I wrapped up. “Sorry,” she said. “That’s intense. You nailed it.”
