🌱 Take an internship with a difference this winter break
Charlotte Ford didn’t set out to work in juvenile justice—but a McCusker Centre for Citizenship internship changed the direction of her career.
While studying a Bachelor of Science at UWA, Charlotte undertook a McCusker Centre internship with Patches Paediatrics, where she explored the links between disability, health, policy and the justice system.
That experience sparked a lasting commitment to social equity and juvenile justice.
This winter break, take an internship with a difference.

“Make the most of your internship by embracing opportunities to develop new skills and upskill. Tell your supervisor if there’s a specific skill relevant to the internship that you would like to learn. Ask your supervisor about their professional history and how they got to their role today - learn from them and let them be your mentor!”
