The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth, in collaboration with Karate Western Australia, warmly invites the Indonesian community and the wider public to a special Meet & Greet with Indonesian and Western Australian karate athletes and coaches, followed by an exciting Come & Try Karate session.
Whether you’re an experienced martial artist, curious to try karate for the first time, or simply looking to meet inspiring athletes and connect with the community, everyone is welcome!

Congratulations to every athlete, coach, referee, volunteer and supporter who represented Western Australia at the 2026 Karate Australia National Championships in Hobart.

The commitment, dedication and countless hours of preparation throughout the year culminated in an outstanding Championships, with the incredible team spirit and support shown by our WA family being a true highlight.

A special congratulations goes to our Women's Open Kumite Team, who made history by claiming the national title for the fifth consecutive year—a remarkable achievement that reflects the strength and depth of women's kumite in Western Australia.

Overall, Team WA finished an outstanding second on the national medal tally, bringing home 17 gold, 21 silver and 41 bronze medals.

Every athlete should be immensely proud of their efforts, not only for their performances on the tatami but also for the respect, sportsmanship and pride with which they represented Western Australia. Best from the West!

This unique international collaboration brings together elite Indonesian and West Australian coaches and athletes to the WA karate community for a day of learning, development and cultural exchange. Whether you're looking to sharpen your kata, elevate your kumite, or gain insights from international performers, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Train with members of the Indonesian & Australian National Team and experienced international coaches in specialised sessions covering:

✅ One Discipline (Kata or Kumite): $50

Coach Observing Passes are also available, providing coaches with the opportunity to watch both seminars, gain new ideas, and further develop their coaching knowledge.
