Contract Diesel

One of our valued customers was scheduled in to have a bearing roll completed on their C15 powered Kenworth. The engine had completed 1,400,000 km and the owner wanted a better understanding of his engine condition.

Once the sump was removed we soon discovered the big-end bearings had started to delaminate and bearing flakes were found throughout the engine lubrication system.

The engine was overdue for a rebuild and repair options were discussed with the customer. Further inspection found the crank shaft needed crack testing and polishing. The block had fretting and liner height inserts were required. The engine was then removed from the truck and a full rebuild was completed.

The job is now complete and the customer is very happy with the increased power and reduced engine noise.

The customer was very lucky not to have a major failure and show’s that oil sampling and scheduled maintenance could have prevented an unforeseen overhaul.

Recently we have commenced working along side Aqua Drill Resources as their go to for all mechanical maintenance on their Drilling, on-site transport/ service transport and workshop facilities.
