The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Employees Union (Construction and General Division) - WA Branch

11/06/2026

Full credit to delegate Dan at the ADCO Swan Active Ellenbrook Hub, standing up for workers - keeping them safe, keeping them dry, and carrying the responsibility that comes with the role.

A solid discussion with the crew about the Union movement showed exactly where this workforce stands united, positive and strong together.

Smiles on faces, solidarity on site, and workers backing each other every step of the way.

That’s what a strong delegate does. That’s how we do it in WA - Strong Union. Strong Delegates. Strong Workers.

This morning started the day of with toolbox meeting at WA-life Murdoch.

The builder, with experience across the East Coast, said this is one of the best-run projects he’s worked on. Strong Productivity, Strong Safety, Great Moral and a United Workforce.

CFMEU Secretary thanked the organisers and delegates for standing alongside workers, driving safety, and keeping the job moving.

Members were also updated that EBA 2027 negotiations have commenced. No deal gets signed without the members’ approval.

As the day begins it's just another Saturday on the job.

A strong finish to the working week with BBQs across Perth construction sites Lendlease - UWA Student Accommodation & Curtin University Science Building, WA Life -Women and Babies Hospital Osborne Park, and Built - City Link.

CFMEU WA Secretary Mick Buchan, Organiser Chappo, delegates and officials were on the ground serving the crews all who had put in a 50+ hour week on the tools.

While others enjoy the weekend, construction workers are still on the front line building the projects that keep WA moving.

The CFMEU WA stands shoulder to shoulder with its members. United in purpose. United in strength.

UNITED WE STAND. SOLIDARITY FOREVER.

Russell Square Northbridge - Homeless Breakfast

While others look away or pretend not to see, in the heart of the Perth CBD the CFMEU WA steps up.

Before the city wakes, before the sun rises, before the lights go on, the barbecue is fired up - eggs, bacon, sausages wrapped up in a fresh roll with drinks for those doing it toughest in our community.

We fight every day for safety, wages and conditions, but union values don’t stop at the site gate.

We stand with working people. We stand with the homeless. We stand with our community.

The week ended with a well-deserved long weekend BBQ for all site personal.
Secretary Mick Buchan updated the members loud and clear – EBA 27 negotiations are around the corner and the relationship between the Union and Built keeps getting stronger.
The results speak for themselves since, all projects delivered sine the EBA commences have been completed with a proactive safety culture, on time, on budget.
Union Built Quality Built
Full credit and respect to Lead Organiser Monty, Crane & Rigging Organiser Chappo and Delegate Jason for supporting the project with solid leadership and commitment in maintaining industry standards across the board.
