🌟5 Day Play Challenge🌟
Day One: Safe Water Bead Play!
Water beads are fun for all ages and I have been wanting to give my Bub an opportunity to explore these colourful, squishy gems for ages but wanted to do it in a way where he is safe from ingesting them.
We started with the water beads in a ziplock bag (air squeezed out) and taped to a window. They looked gorgeous with the natural light shining thru. I then moved them to the tiles and taped them back down. Bub enjoyed crawling over the bag and sitting on top of it.
Finally when he lost interest of it I poured them in to a large “clear” balloon and squeezed the air out to create a stress ball type thing.
OTHER FAVOURITE WAYS TO USE WATER BEADS:
✨replace marbles with water beads when building a marble run!
✨fill a tray with water beads and add scoops, spoons, cups, tweezers etc
✨ freeze in IceCube trays
✨add to play dough

WHERE TO BUY?
You will find water beads in most $2 shops, usually in the artificial flower/vase section as they are traditionally used in vases. they cost about $3 a pack. I used half a pack.

⚠️ please note that water beads are not safe to ingest! They are not recommended to be used as a toy so any use should be VERY CLOSELY SUPERVISED. ⚠️

💧🛁GELLI BAFF🛁💧
Disclaimer: I can’t take credit for this activity or the photos as this one came from Archer’s daycare HOWEVER I had actually purchased a box of Gelli Baff the week before with the intentions of using some with Archer and some at school in my Kindy class.
If you haven’t tried Gelli Baff before, please don’t let the ridiculous name put you off! You can find it in Target stores in their beauty department in a range of different colours. I opted for the blue as I thought it would be perfect for an underwater small world play.
Would I fill an entire bath tub with the stuff? No thanks. But a container big enough to hide different items thru the mixture would be perfect for little hands and fingers to explore and investigate. I love the idea of adding bead strings.
The packet includes a sachet of powder that you can add afterwards to dissolve the product and make it easier to clean.
I will attach a picture of the product box in the comment section so you know what you’re looking for.
Happy Gelli Baff-ing! 🤣

🚜🐄THROW IT IN THE TRAY🐄🚜
Hi folks! Long time no post, this mumma has gone back to work (part time) and hasn’t had the opportunity to jump on and share what we’ve been up to.
This one was a spur of the moment, keep bubba busy while I clean the kitchen activity.
I used barley as the sensory element but you could literally use anything you have on hand... split peas, chickpeas, rice, flour, cereal etc.
Archer has been loving his toy animals and trucks lately and we are encouraging him to mimick the sounds the animals make. He LOVED picking up the teeny tiny pieces of barley and sprinkling it on to the tiles outside the mat. Certainly an activity to do BEFORE you vacuum the house.
Give it a go!

⚠️as always, please supervise your children closely when creating messy play. Ensure that small items are food same and expect that they will give it a taste. Archer was eating the raw barley by the handful 🤦🏻‍♀️
