This morning, we attended Bringing Them Home WA and Yokai Healing our Spirit's Smoking Ceremony at the Stolen Generations Memorial in Wellington Square to commemorate National Sorry Day.

May 26th, National Sorry Day, acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children that were forcibly removed from their families between the mid 1800s and 1980s, and also marks the anniversary of the tabling of the Bringing Them Home Report in 1997.

The day precedes National Reconciliation Week, and this mornings event was a powerful moment of reflection, connection and truthtelling, which we will carry right the way through this week and for the year’s entirety.
