The Run 4 Blue totals are in and we are super happy with the grand total donated in 2026.
$107,585.99 was donated to the 8 states and territories Legacies in Australia supporting our blue family. NSW with the support of there amazing Run4Blue ambassador Tracey took the chocolates this year in a dominate performance. Very proud to see our SA blue family step up and raise a huge amount of money. Special shout out to NT police and their 4 legged furry friends who raised a huge amount in 2026 along with TAS police who have always been big supporters of Run 4 Blue but they must have found some deeper pockets this year as the proceeds where fantastic.
πEveryoneβs a winner when we Run4Blue.
π2027 will be an exciting year as we hopefully tip over the million dollars donated to our wonderful legacies. Dutchy and I are super proud of what this event has achieved collectively and we look forward to many more years throwing banter across the ditch while raising money for legacy.

Here is one of our fantastic South Australian families supporting Run4Blue for many years now. Itβs great seeing the kids signing up each year and getting involved π
We first signed up in 2020, only Mel and I joined but after finishing that year we thought why not include the kids. They were a little jealous of our medal! Since then we have all been involved and had a great time getting out there and clocking up the kmβs. We support SA Policy Legacy.
As to the why, we know and appreciate the work that Legacy does supporting families through tough times and beyond. In my time in the job weβve lost a few colleagues and I hope that in some way our small contribution to Legacy and the visibility Run4Blue brings to it, helps Legacy assist those families without their loved ones. Some of the walks as a family have given us good time to have discussions with the kids and give them an appreciation for Legacy and the work they do.
We have made a lot of great memories during the years. In 2022 we had to quarantine because of Covid which made things a bit hard. Our house isnβt huge so while we were stuck at home, we measured out a couple of tracks around the house. We did some maths to work out it was 72 laps of the hallway or 32 loops of the back yard for a km! We eventually got a treadmill to make it a bit easier.
Our walks have taken us all over Adelaide. A favourite we visit every year is the Gilberton swing bridge, an old fashioned suspension bridge over the River Torrens where we like to bounce like nitwits until it gets too much and we have to walk off the jelly legs!
When we started Run4Blue as a family our children were 5 and 7 years old. Now at 10 and 12 they have a better understanding of why they are completing the challenge
