I have had to make the really difficult decision to stop taking bookings for Gray Lane Event Design.

It's not unheard of for wedding vendors to reach burnout in their business at some point, for me unfortunately my body is failing! I got some not so great news from the doctor about a month ago about my lower back.

I am only 23 and the diagnosis definitely does not reflect that. I can't ignore it and I need to prioritise my health.

A little snippet of the diagnosis included:
◾️2 slipped discs that are close to a nerve root
◾️A recently healed stress fracture in my spine
◾️And a section of osteoarthritis

I am so thankful to all the amazing couples that have entrusted me with their planning and florals over the last 4 years!

I still have some amazing weddings for the rest of the year to work on with my current couples and I cannot wait! I will just be taking it a little easier and not being so stubborn 🙈

Make a Statement 😍

I love a great hanging install! It can really elevate the room and make the area a focal point 🙌

For sit-down weddings, I recommend making the head table a statement and making guest tables more reserved. This ensures you and your partner will be the focus!

You also don't want to clutter guest tables because they really do need to function. Your guest will need space to eat, there is nothing worse than not being able to move because everyone is packed really tight 🙈 Drink will be abandoned and scattered on the tables so keeping the florals to a minimum is a great idea.

✨ Elevate ✨

If you want to lift your tablescapes to look that little bit extra, I always recommend adding a coloured napkin, nicer cutlery, or both! 🙌

Simply adding a nice napkin that matches the wedding party outfits, or your floral palette is such an easy way to add interest to the table 😍

✨Vase Variety ✨

I go through fine details such as vase heights and shapes when discussing tablescapes 💐

It is so important to have variety in your vases so they aren't one tone.

I have vases in stock, a lot of them are old juice bottles, honey jars, etc. This means they are naturally different and have character to them 😄

I also like to give my clients the option to collect their own jars so that their guests can take the centrepieces with them at the end of the night 🙌The flowers get a second chance to make a room beautiful!
