What a beautiful morning at Bunnings! ✨
We only had two hours to start and complete) We had a free coffee and nibbles too✅
I feel so grateful and privileged to have hosted a free community art class today — our “One of a Kind” workshop, where we painted stunning magpies on canvas using acrylics.
Everyone brought their own creativity to life — choosing between two bird options, exploring their own background colours, and truly making each piece unique. And they really were… one of a kind. 🖤🎨
We even had a whole family join, including the sweetest little “Picasso boy” who absolutely stole the show with his creativity!
A huge thank you to Julie, the amazing DIY facilitator at Bunnings — truly one of a kind. Your support and energy made this session so special. 💛
I’m so proud of everyone — you all did an incredible job!
I already can’t wait for the next one… although this one is officially SOLD OUT.
Watch this space — more beautiful workshops are coming soon. And join Bunnings website, in DIY section for future events! 🥳

It’s on! Community Art Award Exhibition 2025 is open for public now. Come and view plenty of original art works at City of Wanneroo library. And don’t forget to vote for me!🥳🥰
About my art work:
“Feeling Blue” is a reflection of both my personal journey and the emotions of those I support. Painted with leftover blue and green acrylic on A4 paper, all three portraits came to life intuitively, from my imagination, guided by emotion rather than structure. I used minimum of brushstrokes, that emerged from a space of deep empathy and lived experience.
I have personally struggled with depression, anxiety and trauma . Art became a lifeline during my darkest moments—a place where I could express what I couldn’t say out loud. Creating gave me permission to feel, to heal, and to begin again.
Now working in the mental health and disability sector, I support individuals living with complex challenges. Through my art, I channel not only my own emotions but also the silent pain, resilience, and hope of those around me. “Feeling Blue” embodies that shared experience—the sadness, numbness, and isolation that often go unseen.
This painting is my way of saying: I see you. I’ve been there. You’re not alone. Whether through art or connection, healing is possible—and sometimes just knowing someone understands can light the way forward.
