🌍 THRIVE ON THIRTY – Meals That Matter
🇵🇰 Episode 1: Pakistan

Can you help us create food hampers for families doing it tough?

Our first Thrive on Thirty video tutorial has already been released, giving our community the opportunity to cook alongside us, recreate the meal at home, and see exactly what families receiving these hampers will be following along with in their own kitchens.

This week we are featuring a traditional Pakistani meal that can feed a family while staying within a $30 budget. We are asking our community to donate the ingredients listed on the poster so we can pack hampers and provide families with both the ingredients and the video tutorial to guide them through the recipe step-by-step.

🛒 Choose one ingredient, a few ingredients, or sponsor an entire hamper.

📍 Donations can be dropped off to:
Sisters Hand in Hand Inc.
Unit 1, 10-12 Harvard Way, Canning Vale

📅 Donations close Friday 19 June 2026.

✨✨ Thrive on 30 – Episode 1: Pakistan
Featuring Mehwish Saleem
Premieres 14 June 2026 ✨✨

Welcome to the very first episode of Thrive on 30, a community-driven initiative that brings together families, cultures and affordable cooking to show that nutritious, flavour-filled meals can be created on a budget.

Our first stop is Pakistan, where we meet Mehwish Saleem, a devoted mother of five whose love for cooking brings her family together around the dining table. Her children eagerly anticipate the traditional dishes she prepares, each meal carrying the flavours, memories and traditions of home. 🇵🇰

Originally from Punjab, Pakistan, Mehwish chose to share one of her favourite family recipes, Chicken Yakhni Pulao, for the Thrive on 30 challenge. This beloved dish has been passed down through generations and remains a favourite among her grandmother, mother, sisters and wider family.

When welcoming our team into her home, Mehwish embraced the challenge of creating a meal to feed six people on a $30 budget. She admitted it was definitely a challenge, but found the experience incredibly rewarding. Through careful planning, budgeting and creativity, she discovered that it is possible to prepare a wholesome, nourishing and culturally rich meal without spending a fortune.

For Mehwish, this challenge was about much more than cooking. It was an opportunity to share a piece of her culture, honour the traditions that shaped her, and reflect on the cherished memories created around family meals. She hopes her recipe inspires others to explore new flavours, embrace budgeting with confidence, and discover how food can connect us to our families, our heritage and one another.

Join us on 14 June 2026 as we launch Episode 1: Pakistan, and follow along as Mehwish shares her family's treasured Chicken Yakhni Pulao recipe, proving that with planning, creativity and a little love, great meals don't have to come with a high price tag.
