Outside of WA, Lucy Fiore has ridden winners at Yarra Valley, Mornington, Bendigo and Stony Creek, along with placings at Morphettville, Moonee Valley, Flemington and even Hanging Rock.

Now she’s looking to add to that tally with her first ride in Queensland this Saturday, which will also be her first experience riding in the clockwise direction. She’ll be hoping to break through for her first win aboard Super Smink, a mare she’s partnered with and gone close with in feature races at Ascot.

The Morton–Fiore partnership continues to be a strong one, ranking as her fifth most successful combination behind her father Justin, as well as Peter Fernie, Brett Pope and Adam Durrant.

Good luck Lucy and team Sminky. Australia’s final Group 1 of the season at Eagle Farm could be theirs.
