I found the information in this post extremely informative, especially the advice on pets.
They are not telling people to leave pets behind, even tho they are not allowed in Evac Centres, please still take them and then alternative arrangements can be made for them whilst you are all in safer areas.
Please have a fire plan if you are in fire-prone areas. Have things ready in a quick to access spot. Also, do keep a collapsible cat cage and an old towel in your boot constantly in case you stop along the way and find injured wildlife.
