Interchange WA is always evolving, and Melvin is evolving with it. That’s why she’s our latest iThink You Are Awesome winner. As the Marketing & Communications Lead, she’s the connection between our services, our customers, and our employees. When something changes with one, she makes sure the rest know.
Melvin stands out for her ability to stay calm, organised and forward-thinking, even in a fast-paced environment. Her ability to work, respond to change, plan ahead, and lead her team is what makes her stand out.
Melvin’s dedication to her work especially shined when preparing the new Interchange WA website. If you haven’t seen it, now is a perfect time to check it out! Click the link in the comments to visit the website and read her story.

This morning, Interchange WA had the pleasure to attend the Care Sector Showcase at South Metropolitan TAFE with our Diversity South team.
It was a great morning of getting out among the community and talking about what drives us to support People with Disability. We hope we’ve encouraged the next generation to consider joining the Care and Disability Sector as future career pathways, and maybe even join us at Interchange WA one day.

In the time that Josh has been with Interchange WA, we’ve seen him transform.
When he began his supports, he was isolated, introverted, and working a job that didn’t fulfil him. Our Support Worker, Lee, saw his potential. With time, focus, and plenty of ups and downs, they made a plan to find fulfilling employment for Josh, then saw it through.
They started with Josh himself, looking at job options that suited both his interests and his process-oriented thinking. Once they found it, they broke it into steps. Even though it took time, his Support Worker aided him through every step of the way and motivated him through setbacks.
Getting his driver’s license was a major step that reignited his confidence. Then onto the qualifications of getting his traffic management certification and white card. The interview process was perhaps the most daunting stage, but his Support Worker attended as support. When Josh got the job, he couldn’t wipe the smile from his face.
His Support Worker took this photo once he started the job, showing off his certificate in his company vehicle and proud as can be.
Once an isolated introvert, Josh is now a team leader in his workplace. He does what he loves and has found a place in the world. We’re looking forward to what Josh does next, and we’re looking for more people to create successes with.
If you’re in the Midland area and looking for disability supports that help you reach your goals, contact our team at (08) 9329 9399 or email [email protected]
And if you want to learn more about Josh’s success, a link to our blog is in the comments.
