Since its establishment in 1903, Osborne Primary has developed a proud history, with many of our students going on to play important roles within Western Australia. Our school has an experienced and dynamic staff. School
We offer specialist programs in Music, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Italian and English as a Second Language. We are also focussed on the advancement of Information Technolog
ies in the learning program. There are computers in a laboratory setting and in classrooms. Every classroom has a Smartboard (Interactive Whiteboard), which is the very latest in learning technologies for students. Osborne students are treated to a wonderful start with specialist Early Childhood Teachers in both Kindergarten and Pre Primary. Our NAPLAN (National Assessment Program in Literacy & Numeracy) results were exceptionally good again in 2011, well above the Australian average in most areas. This success reflects the quality teaching programs within the school and the high expectations we have of our students. This year Osborne excelled on the sporting field. We had a very successful football and netball interschool program, with the highlight being the football team (mixed boys and girls) playing at Subiaco Oval before an AFL match. Osborne was also successful in winning the Handicap Shield in the annual Interschool Athletics Carnival. The School Physical Education program includes a commitment to have regular visits from various sporting organisations, in order to continually expose students to a wide range of sports and skills. Facility improvements are vital to every school and Osborne Primary has a new Library, new large covered playground and an Assembly Area under construction, due for completion mid 2012. Osborne Primary encourages and welcomes active parent involvement. There are many interesting activities occurring within our school, which we encourage you to become involved in. We hope your time with us, both students and parents, is enjoyable and rewarding.
