Finally some common sense in all this mess. The crux of this story... even though someone currently spends $1000 a week on a lavish lifestyle... it doesn't mean that person will spend the same, if they were to get a mortgage. Westpac won their case, and rightly so. I wonder if this might shake some sense into the regulator/banks about the assessment of living expenses?
