Yes it's time for George Street Festival, my absolute favourite event. Fun fact, the first place I lived in WA was on George Street with it's beautiful heritage buildings and jacaranda trees. Each year the street came alive with festivities and the best stalls featuring local artisan crafts. The have always been avid supporters of Fair Trade crafts made around the world as well as committed to creating a sustainable event with no single use packaging ♻️

"bringing humanity back to business" Agung Alit from tells me of the movement that has been his life's work and passion for over 3 decades.

It was wonderful to visit Fair Trade friends Agung, Hani and their daughter Janis at their HQ just outside of Ubud. Pioneers of Fair Trade, Mitra Bali ensures that rural artisans are treated fairly for their skilled work.

In the last photo, Agung takes me back to the grid lock traffic of Ubud via tranquil rice paddies that he fears will soon be gone as endless new villa's emerge 😔
