The Corporate Pivot: Selective Sympathy

Channel 9’s Allison Langdon, on a reported $1.5 million salary, has decided it’s now safe to show concern for people injured by the COVID vaccines. Five years after she publicly shut down Craig Kelly for daring to suggest there might be a problem, she’s suddenly fronting segments with a sombre expression about the very same issue.

The timing is telling. This isn’t some brave journalistic pivot — it’s a calculated adjustment to a shifting corporate line. The same anchor who once told a politician to “be quiet” when he raised safety concerns is now performing sympathy for the injured, as if the damage only became real once the station gave her permission to acknowledge it.

Viewers are left to decide whether this is genuine reflection or simply another ratings-friendly pivot from someone whose job depends on reading the room — or more accurately, reading the brief from upstairs. Either way, the hypocrisy is hard to miss.
