Big news for Ember Connect.

We are thrilled to welcome Latoya Black Bolton as our inaugural Chief Executive Officer.

Latoya is a proud Noongar/Yamatji woman with more than 20 years of experience across government and non-government sectors, with a strong focus on education, community development and supporting better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This is a huge milestone for Ember Connect as we move into our next phase of growth.

Since launching in 2022, we have grown into a national digital community of more than 5,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and 1,100 allies.

With Latoya’s leadership, we are excited to keep growing our community, strengthen pathways across career, enterprise and mentoring, deepen our focus on younger First Nations women, and amplify the voices and experiences of First Nations women across Australia.

Early Sparks is a unique new 6-month mentoring program designed to support First Nations mums during the early years of motherhood.

Kicking off on 24 June, this one-of-a-kind program connects mums with mentors who can provide guidance, encouragement, practical advice, and a listening ear.

Whether you're navigating parenting, returning to work, study, business, wellbeing, or simply looking for someone who understands, we're here to walk alongside you.

You'll be matched with a mentor – a First Nations mum or experienced woman who can share insights, support, and encouragement as you navigate this important stage of life.
