had a call today from a long standing customer in karratha.normally they are loyal and trust the brand to give them a good ten year period of use. not today. he who shall remain nameless,said he bought 2 propellers ex eastern states because they were cheaper. immediately i thought well your on 200k a year, getting good service and value for dollar from SOLAS but you want more. so i asked, whats the problem then? hes goes on to tell me that the boat has lost 5 knots and only revs to 5300 rpm now with the cheap propellers. i couldnt help myself. what did you fu***ng expect i asked. tell me once in your life that youve bought cheap s**t and its been better. i cooled off and we went around how to resolve his problem. he used one sure, but according to the authorities if you pay for a service and it is not directly supplied, then you can expect to get a refund, this is where OZ just doesnt want to play ball and refuses to do a refund.
so warning, if a propeller is white, has the company logo painted in black on the side, ask about the warranty word or performance expectations. cheaper is never any good
sorry for the rant but ive put 30 plus years into this SOLAS agency and didnt feel like letting this one go

Friday 19th december 4pm finally sitting at home after a couple of long weeks leading up to christmas. In my 30th year of propellers and it still our reason to wake up every day. By us i mean cheryl too. Apart from looking after her mum she runs a mean household as well as helping out at work big time.we try our hardest to help everyone but some just seem to know more than me. A big thankyou to all of our clients both wholesale and retail . We do appreciate you all. Our day was topped of but a bloke who was struggling to fix a 9.9 johnson. No dealer in perth said yes to helping him. We lined up the bench and banged a bit, found a new thrust washer and hes now boating over the holidays. Felt good.
Any way thanks again. We have a half day next monday the 22nd and closing until the 5th of january. Michael and cheryl
