I’m so excited to be helping Curtin University celebrate 50 years of the creative writing program that helped ‘Kintsugi’ and many more wonderful books find their way into the world. I’ll be chatting with and about the tricky business of writing relationships. Can’t wait!

It’s no exaggeration to say that mothering is one of the world’s toughest jobs. And my magnificent Mumma managed to make sure we always felt loved, safe and cared for, even in the darkest moments of Dad’s chaos and cruelty. I tried to capture her strength and amazing ability to ‘make something out of nothing’ in my writing but no metaphor or symbol will ever be able do her justice.

Happy birthday 🥳🎂♥️🪩 I’ve been trying for years now to write about the layers of love and meaning in the word ‘sister’ but for now, I’ll let those holding hands you’ve got on me here say it all. Love you so much, Lise and hope all the best stuff comes your way, every day but especially today. xo

I’m delighted to be a keynote speaker at this year’s ETAWA mini conference, and hoping that by championing the experimental personal essay/memoir, I might be able to introduce more people to the joys of reading, teaching and writing this form 😊

Quietly celebrating my beautiful big sister's birthday today, wondering what Mia might make of all that has changed in the 22 years she's been gone. I could certainly still do with that protective arm, but mostly I'd just love the chance to be able to talk and laugh and cry together again. ❤️
