This afternoon at 4:00pm AWST I was sitting on the lounge suite with my partner and watching my beautiful little girl build a fort.
Unexpectedly and all of a sudden I started crying, I had no idea why and found it hard to comprehend. I turned to my partner hoping he had an answer for me - he didn't but held me all the same.
30 minutes later, my partner's Mum called and let us know there was a shooting in Bondi, on the first day of Chanukah - we turned on the TV.
Coincidence? ...no, there's no such thing as coincidence.
This is energy in its rawness - we are all energetic beings and energy never lies.
Sometimes we feel isolated and disconnected from one another but this is not the highest truth - we are always connected - to each other and the universe.

Tomorrow is Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”), an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
Celebrated from October 31 to November 1, it’s considered one of the “quarter days” in the Celtic calendar, dividing the year into seasons.
For the Celts, Samhain was not just a seasonal marker; it was also a spiritual event when the veil between the world of the living and the dead was believed to be thinnest, allowing spirits and ancestors to return briefly to the earthly realm.
This belief made Samhain both a time for honoring the dead and a period of supernatural caution, with bonfires and costumes used to ward off or confuse malevolent spirits.
The celebration has influenced modern Halloween, with practices like dressing in costume and carving pumpkins (originally turnips) tracing back to Celtic and Irish customs.
Despite these festive associations, Samhain’s roots are deeply spiritual. For modern practitioners of Paganism, Wicca, and those who observe Celtic traditions, Samhain holds sacred meaning as the beginning of the “dark half” of the year, symbolizing death, rebirth, and introspection.
What does it mean for us as individuals?
Samhain can be an invitation to reflect on mortality, personal growth, and transformation. With its focus on the cycle of life and death, it encourages us to honor the past, whether through family ancestry, spiritual connection, or remembering those we’ve lost. It can also be a time for personal introspection—reflecting on the “dark” or hidden aspects of ourselves that we might want to let go of as we transition into a new season.
On a personal level, observing Samhain can foster gratitude for what we have harvested in our lives—both literally and metaphorically—and help us set intentions for what we want to cultivate or transform in the coming months. It’s a period of quiet, of turning inward, and of preparing for the introspective season of winter, making it a time of renewal as much as remembrance.
