Significant changes related to migration will come into effect on 1 July 2026. Employers who are contemplating sponsorship, as well as visa applicants who are planning to pursue skilled migration pathways, should begin their preparations now.

🔹 Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT) Increase
The minimum salary requirement for numerous employer-sponsored visas will rise from AUD 76,515 to AUD 79,499 plus superannuation starting 1 July 2026.

🔹 Labour Market Testing (LMT) Deadlines
For applications intended to be submitted before 1 July 2026, employers must ensure that recruitment advertising requirements are initiated in a timely manner to comply with the mandatory advertising period.

🔹 Government Fees Expected to Increase
Visa application fees and associated government charges are anticipated to increase from 1 July 2026.
