"What I love about the cooking class on Thursdays is when I make the dessert and when I sit down and eat the food." 💜
One of our participants, JW, shared this lovely reflection about Kangaroo Kitchen, and it made us smile.
Thursday cooking is about learning new skills, trying new recipes and enjoying good food together.
Dessert is clearly a favourite, but sitting down with friends to enjoy what everyone has made is pretty special too.
Today’s menu was full of comfort food favourites with lasagna, chocolate pudding and a few pizzas thrown in for good measure 🍕🍫🍝
One of the highlights was seeing Sheebie confidently stepping up in the kitchen and even showing off some impressive hosting and presentation skills along the way.
Since joining the program, Sheebie’s confidence and cooking skills have grown so much, and it’s been wonderful watching that progress happen week by week.
At this rate, we might need to launch the KDS Cooking Show sometime in the future… 👩🍳🎬

Meet Jyoti, our Operations Lead in Tasmania. Jyoti is based in Hobart and is leading Kangaroo Disability Services as we expand our supports across Tasmania.
She brings strong experience in the disability sector and is passionate about helping participants build confidence, independence and meaningful connections in their community.
