Dave's top 3 tips for boxing and having the best class 🥊 ⬇️

1️⃣ Listen to your body and let it express itself in flow.
2️⃣ The bag doesn't care if you get a combo wrong. (and neither do I as long as the technique is sound).
3️⃣ Finally, try not to let your fun be reliant upon your competency.
Next, let's talk about tips for having the best class.
✅ Come with realistic expectations of yourself as directed by mood, experience, capabilities, and energy levels.
✅ Use that expectation to have an individual goal for the session. (could be mindfulness, social, focus on improving a mechanic or skill, etc. it'll generally be able to fit in with whatever session plan your coach has already planned).
✅ Consistency trumps output. 4 classes a week when you half-ass two of them, is still better than 2 classes a week. And over the course of a year, the changes you'll see really couldn't care less about that one session where you did an extra pushup. but they will care about the 10 or so sessions you didn't do because you weren't feeling up to peak performance.
P.S. Listening to your body is still key, if you need a full rest, take a full rest. but. often habits can be harder to pick back up than a kettlebell, and the goal should *always* be learning to love moving and using your body. Some of these skills take time. Be gentle and kind to yourself, but remember that small steps make marathons.
