WHAT IS RESCUE
Put simply a rescue dog is one that needs a new home. They come from all sorts of varying backgrounds – but mainly fit into two categories:
• The first are dogs that are surrendered by their owners for rehoming.
• The second are dogs that are surrendered to the pound, RSPCA or Animal Welfare groups.
1. In the first category:
Some of the rescued RR’s come from loving homes that for s

GHOST – Private Rehome NSW Nelson Bay
Ghost is looking for his forever home. He is a male 1 year old RR x Bull Mastiff.
He is approximately 25 -30kg and in excellent condition. He is a real love bug with humans and children of all ages. He is a very loyal dog who just wants to be with his people.
He is also very well trained – he knows sit, stay, wait, drop and waits for ‘cross’ before crossing roads and has an excellent recall. Will never go further than a meter from you when off lead, he waits or returns to you.
Ghost has lived in a mixture of environments, inside or outside but of course would prefer to be where you are.
Unfortunately, Ghost has been attacked by other dogs a few times now which has made him scared and jumpy when meeting new dogs and will now hold his ground if things escalate. He would benefit from feeling comfortable and safe in his own space before being homed with another dog. He is however good with cats!
He is needing a new home due to a relationship breakdown, and he is in temporary accommodation. His vaccinations are up to date and he is microchipped.
If you think Ghost would fit your family, please message the page with your location and phone number which we will pass on to the owner as this is a private rehoming not through Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue.

‼️‼️‼️🚨URGENT URGENT 🚨‼️‼️
💔 BEYOND HEARTBREAKING 💔
Bolder 4 yo male Beagle Hound Cross.
As many of you know, Lilly and Bolder came into our care due to circumstances no family should ever have to face.
Their dad is battling a devastating cancer diagnosis, and their parents were forced to make the impossible decision to find new homes for the two dogs they love beyond words.
Sadly, the home we found for Lilly and Bolder didn't work out.
Through absolutely no fault of the adopters, who tried everything, Lilly and Bolder, both became extremely stressed. We worked tirelessly alongside the adopters to try and help them settle, but despite everyone's best efforts, it became clear things were not improving.
Lilly struggled immensely.
For four days she paced relentlessly, drooled, shook, cried, tried desperately to get to the door and even attempted to dig her way out of the garden. Day and night she searched for familiarity and simply could not settle.
Once all options had been exhausted, we made the decision to seek veterinary assistance. After some light sedation and, most importantly, much-needed sleep, Lilly was moved to a highly experienced Ridgeback foster home in South Australia with one of our rescuers.
Thankfully, she responded quickly. Surrounded by people who understand the breed and given the time and support she needed, Lilly is now recovering well and slowly finding her feet again. We know now that Lilly will need a very specific home when the time comes.
What this experience also showed us was something unexpected.
Lilly and Bolder were not as bonded as we had originally believed.
In those first few days, it became clear that Bolder was heavily influenced by Lilly's stress and anxiety. At mealtimes he would often walk away from his food while Lilly enthusiastically inhaled hers and then attempted to help herself to his.
Once they were separated and Bolder was fed without pressure or competition, something wonderful happened.
His appetite returned.
Like any true Beagle Hound Cross, he suddenly rediscovered his love of food and mealtimes became enjoyable again.
Unfortunately, the stress didn't completely disappear.
Even after Lilly was moved, Bolder continued to struggle. He remained unsettled, anxious and unable to fully relax. It became evident that the environment and experience level of the home simply wasn't the right fit for him.
With no time to spare, we contacted his parents.
Without hesitation, they cancelled flights, cancelled the sale of their caravan and immediately collected him.
Their plan was to take Bolder with them as they travelled to Queensland for his dad's next major surgery and somehow juggle his care around hospital stays and treatment.
Then another devastating blow arrived.
Just two days ago, they were informed that the accommodation they have been approved to stay in for the surgery does not allow dogs.
Their hearts are shattered.
But they know they cannot make it work.
They have run out of options.
We have run out of options.
Beagle Rescue have exhausted every avenue available to them.
And now we are desperately searching for a safe, loving home for Bolder before his family reaches Queensland.
Please remember why this family is being forced to do this.
This is not abandonment.
This is not lack of love.
This is a family facing the unimaginable.
In their own words:
"We know he isn't coming through this. This operation is about buying extra time."
The reality they are facing is beyond heartbreaking.
Not knowing where Bolder will go. Knowing Lilly and Bolder are unsettled. Feeling powerless to help the two dogs they love so deeply while trying to navigate what may be their final chapter together.
It is impossible to imagine the weight they are carrying.
Today they begin their journey from Adelaide through Mildura, Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, Moree, Toowoomba and then into Queensland for surgery.
They MUST be in Queensland by Wednesday.
They will divert anywhere along that route if it means getting Bolder safely into a loving home.
🐾 BOLDER 🐾
Bolder is a 4-year-old Beagle Hound Cross with a heart of pure gold.
He is affectionate, social, dog-friendly and absolutely adores people. He loves adventures, camping, travelling and being involved in family life.
He is playful, funny, gentle and one of those dogs who leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets.
What makes this even harder is knowing where Bolder came from.
His first two years of life were horrific.
When his parents rescued him from the RSPCA at two years of age, they committed themselves to helping him heal and teaching him what love, safety and security looked like.
They succeeded.
The beautiful boy we see today is because of the love they poured into him.
And now, when they need help the most, we are asking our village to help him again.
Please.
If you have room in your heart and home for a beautiful, loving boy.
If you know someone who does.
If you can share this post.
If you can help us reach the person who is meant to find him.
Please reach out urgently.
Bolder desperately needs a safe place to land.
Let's make sure this beautiful boy doesn't lose everything all at once 💞

Private Rehome - QLD Brisbane
Ivy is a 9 month old Staffy Cross Ridgeback available for adoption currently located in Kingston, Logan QLD.
We originally rescued Ivy at 6 months and she’s proven herself to be a princess who would rather be inside on your bed. Unfortunately, council has said we are not allowed to have 4 dogs where we are.
Ivy is Desexed, up to date with everything, currently 15kg, medium size, on a raw diet and has been brought up around toddlers and small dogs.
She is very good at listening and knows how to sit and high five but is ever watchful of everything going on around her so her ongoing training needs to be maintained.
She enjoys fetch and will sit and wait for her toy, she would be a great sporting dog for lure course or scent trails as she’s very smart and active.
She is nervous in unfamiliar surroundings and takes time to decompress when out on walks, so dog parks are a big no.
And slow introductions to new dogs is a must as she is a nervous dog. In the time we’ve had her she’s come out of her shell so much and would definitely make a good family dog.
**Trial Periods are available for possible new owners to ensure the perfect home
**Home inspections are a must; proof of address is required before new owner can take over ownership
**Ongoing training support can be provided to her new owners by us.
We are able to bring her to you for in home meetings, especially if you’re in the Logan area.
She will come with a bed, toys, harness, dog coats and outfits as well as her flea and tick treatments.
If you think Ivy would fit in with your home and lifestyle, please message the page with your location and phone number and we will pass this on to the owner.

CAIRNS
‼️‼️URGENT‼️‼️
We will be more than willing for her to travel by any means necessary for the right home.
Following on from last week’s urgent post with two stories that are still hanging in the balance.
Delilah is our second one 😢
We have about a week!! 🐾🤞
Sadly we had to make decisions on urgency & having for the moment secured the 14 month old boy with great challenges, we are now only able to focus on Delilah 🐕
Again time is not on her side.
She too deserves more than ending up in a pound where she will not cope nor, under the pressure she will face, more than likely have difficulties finding someone to save her.
Between her age and the struggles she has been through Delilah also deserves the chance to feel safe, to feel love, to just be a girl discovering the world the way she should have from the start.
So again we are asking — from the bottom of our hearts — if you feel even a pull reading this… if you think you could be her person to help….. please reach out.

8yo Ridgeback Cross
✨ A Gentle Soul Searching for Safety & Love ✨
Some souls don’t ask for much…
just safety, softness, and someone to lean into. Delilah is one of those souls.
A Ridgeback cross with the softest heart and the kindest eyes you’ve ever seen… the kind that look right into you and stay there. Delilah has known love—but now finds herself quietly waiting for it again 💛
One of our kind hearted RR members spotted her in a local rehome page and steeped up to help 💞
Delilah was in her former from 2 years old when her initial home could no longer care for her. She has been loved since but sadly, due to serious medical challenges, her 2nd family was no longer able to care for her so she went to a temporary home until they knew what the future would hold.
Sadly the temporary care that wasn’t safe at all or suited to her needs, and the stress was showing - she has lost weight, was ignored, yelled at and was very unsettled. She urgently needed to move again. They brought her back but to due to the time constraints and again safety issues for her due to her surroundings they either needed to find her a home or she would go to the pound.
One of our beautiful members put up her hand and tried to make it work quickly for Delilah and her 8 yo RR girl.
Sadly with everything Delilah has been through, it has all been a bit too much and the pressure of competing with another female dog was overwhelming and although good initially, her being over threshold is causing some issues.
That and with the member now needing to be in and out of hospital and not well herself , we are now urgently helping to hopefully find a family who would love a sweet natured, loving, loyal girl who just needs the time, confidence and to learn the world isn’t just upheaval and scary before she runs out of options 😔
💛 About Delilah
• Approx. 38kg, healthy and in great condition
• Exceptionally loving, gentle, and sweet-natured
• A true cuddle bug—lives for affection and closeness
• Will lovingly lean into you, rest her head in your lap, or gently place a paw to ask for more snuggles 🐾
🐾 Temperament & Social Nature
• Fantastic with humans and children of all ages
(she’s grown up with kids—patient, tolerant, and gentle even when they climb all over her)
• Even-tempered, calm, and relaxed in new environments
• Stays close to her people—she just wants to be by your side
🎓 Training & Behaviour
• Professionally trained with strong foundations
• Knows: sit, stay, wait, drop, and has good recall
• Generally calm and chilled
• Can get a little enthusiastic during play (happy jumps!), but settles quickly
• Barks only as a warning
• Does not jump fences
🏡 Lifestyle & Preferences
• Has primarily lived outdoors with proper shelter, but truly just wants to be near her humans
• Loves food (very food motivated 🍖)
• Enjoys rope toys and has a cheeky curiosity for squeaky toys—she must know what’s inside 😉
• On lead: can lean forward with excitement and generally walks calmly alongside you, but can pull if overexcited.
• Untested with cats and we are thinking best not to as she needs to feel safe again first and not overstimulated with other species.
💔 Why She Needs You
Delilah is just looking for a place where she can feel safe again, where she can rest her head, be loved, and simply belong.
She is a beautiful, soulful girl who gives everything she has in love… and right now, she just needs someone to give that love back.
Please If you can offer Delilah the home she deserves, please, please reach out.
Time is important for this sweet girl—let’s get her back to feeling safe, loved, and secure 🐕🐾♥️
