Mooloolaba Entrance - 8 July

Richard's video, taken at 0615, shows swells breaking at the entrance and in the bay on a windy and showery day.

A Strong Wind Warning has been issued for today.

The BOM marine forecast at 0300 is for SE winds of 20 to 25 knots, reaching up to 30 knots offshore early in the morning.

Seas of 2 to 2.5 metres, with a SE swell of 1 to 2 metres inshore, increasing to 3 to 4 metres offshore.

Partly cloudy with an 80% chance of showers.

Large and powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.

Richard's video today shows small swells breaking near the eastern wall and crossing the entrance.

The BOM marine forecast at 0300 is for SE winds of 15 to 25 knots.

Seas of 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres around midday, with a SE swell around 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 2 metres offshore during the afternoon and a second E swell around 1 metre.

Partly cloudy with a 70% chance of showers.
