Tulip season is in bloom 💖 When did you last visit the Melbourne Botanical Gardens? Pic taken this afternoon before a walk around the Tan with some awesome small business stars.

Mother's day is still a little bit away but the Mum & Me session day is coming up fast.

The session day is early so that we can create and produce a special and unique gift in time for Mother's Day.

💝 Why do I think NOW is important for photos, well ...

Many years ago when I photographed Debutante and Graduation balls, I had a family in front of my background with their son who had just graduated from secondary college.

I went through the larger family combinations with siblings, grandparents, parents, etc.

Then I wanted to capture a MUM AND SON image for them.

Formal pose, done ✔️

"Ok, you two, big hugs and squeeze in tight" I call out.

Mum totally looses it and RUNS OFF with tears streaming down her face.

The stunned Dad just looks at me with a 'what did you just do' look on his face. The rest of the family moved away after a stunned minute of silence, realising the Mum was not coming back anytime soon.

Fast forward an hour. Here is the same Mum and son in front of me.

The emotional Mum explains that the moment her son gave her a big squeeze, she realised that her baby was all grown up. There probably wont be as many big squishy hugs just for her as he travels on his independent journey.

AND, the proud Mum told me, she would VERY MUCH LIKE this photo with her child.

We all had happy tears by this stage.

So my friend, it's moments like these in my photography career that makes me realise how special and important capturing images to remember the journey of our lives and to have them on our walls to see everyday, just how important our lives really are. TAKE PHOTOS or get me to do it all for you 📸
