Back and neck pain are super common—and they don’t have to be something you just “put up with.” Here’s a quick look at what a session in the clinic might involve and how we help you get moving better and feeling stronger 💪

Pain isn’t a damage meter.
It’s a protection system — and sometimes it’s just a little too sensitive.
Understanding pain is the first step to changing it.

1. Why things hurt
Pain isn’t just about “damage.”
It’s your body’s warning system doing its job to protect you. Sometimes that warning is accurate… sometimes it’s a little overprotective.

2. Pain is 100% in your brain
All pain is produced by the brain.
That doesn’t mean it’s fake.
It means your brain is interpreting signals and deciding whether something is a threat.

3. Context of pain is key
Pain is influenced by more than tissues:
🧠 Stress
😴 Sleep
😟 Emotions
📈 Past experiences
Your brain looks at the whole picture before turning pain up or down.

4. What to do when pain becomes chronic
✔️ Keep moving (safely and progressively)
✔️ Reduce fear around movement
✔️ Improve sleep, stress & recovery
✔️ Work with someone who treats you, not just the sore spot

Pain doesn’t mean you’re broken — it means your system needs better information 💁‍♂️

🔥 DEBUNKING YOUR BELIEFS ABOUT DISC PAIN 🔥
Lower back and disc-related pain can feel scary — but most of the common beliefs we hear in the clinic simply aren’t true. Let’s clear things up 👇

💥 “I need surgery.”
In most cases… you don’t.
➡️ 85–90% of lower back disc herniations improve within 6–12 weeks without surgery.
➡️ Strength training and guided rehab are some of the MOST effective tools we have for reducing pain and helping you return to normal life.
➡️ Core and stability-focused programs consistently show significant pain reductions in research.

💥 “My spine is fragile.”
Not even close.
Your spine is strong, adaptable and built to move, bend, lift and rotate. Disc changes on scans are often just normal age-related features — not a life sentence.

💥 “I should rest until it goes away.”
Actually… prolonged rest often makes things worse.
Movement (even small amounts early on) improves blood flow, reduces stiffness and speeds recovery.

💥 “A disc injury means lifelong pain.”
Absolutely not.
Most people fully recover — and many return stronger than before once they build confidence in movement again.

✨ At Perform Right Osteo, we help you understand your pain, rebuild strength and get back to living without fear of movement.
Send a message if you’re unsure what’s causing your pain or want guidance on the right rehab approach.

Your spine is stronger than you think 💪🦴

🎥 What a Typical Session Looks Like at Perform Right Osteo

In today’s session, we worked with a returning patient experiencing chronic upper back and neck pain that’s been contributing to headaches. We also focused on her lower back and hips to address some soreness and support her running goals. 🏃‍♀️

Every treatment is tailored to the individual — helping you feel better, move better, and perform better. 💪

I love my clients! Had a recent visit from my good friend Elly who has injured her back. Osteo is my specialty and Elly’s is creating social videos so I got her to document the appointment so you can all see what a regular osteo session looks like! Thanks Elly 🙏🙏
