🌏 Today is World Environment Day – an annual global call for climate action 🌏
 
Here at Fed Square and throughout the Test Garden, we are always trying to do better – helping to share with the community different, accessible ways we can all make choices to build greener spaces, foster biodiversity in our local environments and find creative solutions to better help our environment 💚
 
Coming up in Spring, we’ll be launching our annual RESET program – which is all about practical and creative hands-on sustainability ♻️

Tomorrow, 3 June is Mabo Day, and we’re celebrating with a free concert! 🔥

The evening’s celebration honours culture, community, and the extraordinary legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo – a man whose courage and determination reshaped the history of this country.

The program will feature live performances for a heartfelt and vibrant tribute.

ℹ️ Mabo Day is marked annually on 3 June. It commemorates Mer Island man Eddie Koiki Mabo and his successful efforts to overturn the legal fiction of terra nullius, or ‘land belonging to no-one’. The Mabo decision was a watershed moment in Australian history. In addition to overturning a long-held colonial myth, it paved the way for subsequent native title claims.
