The garden house examines the nature of organic space, as a sequence of events that occur within the boundaries of clients site.

The architecture is an aggregate of parts that express an atmosphere that related deeply to the mood of the environment & how weather, light, wind & rain are experienced within the various spaces of the home.

The clients are a busy professional couple with demanding schedules. The home explores the flexible functions of spaces in a manner where professional meetings, team work, family & the community are able to engage. The street holds a strong sense of community & in this way, the boundaries of public and private are not as obvious: whilst neighborhood fathers may occur at the street, the front yard is a space that could expand the experience of how events may take place in an inviting manner.

The home is a retreat that provides a peaceful atmosphere: voluminous , dramatic spaces are available for a sense of freedom of mind. Whilst on the other hand, smaller intimate dimly space spaces can evoke comfort and privacy.

The european and south asian cultural backgrounds of the clients are deeply rooted in family, socialising and sharing with the ability to accomodate family travelling from other parts of the state or internationally. In this way the story of generosity is the potential for multigenerational living.
