We often get asked by women whether being pregnant, breastfeeding, or having recently given birth will have an impact on their skin check, and are hesitant to be seen at the clinic.

It is completely safe to have a full skin check during any of these stages, and our physicians individualize their care to suit your needs.

Pregnancy hormones can cause rapid changes in pigmentation of the skin, and it may be difficult to keep track of new and existing spots. It is important to have a full body assessment performed by a physician in combination with dermatoscopy, to monitor any changes.

If a cancer is detected early, it is safe to have a biopsy preformed under local anaesthetic during any trimester. The longer a cancer is left undetected, the more difficult treatment becomes during pregnancy.

Call 1300 730 381 to speak to reception, or book online through HotDoc services.
