This song is about the same person in my track “(YOU)”.

I was addicted to the outline of someone.. the warmth, the closeness, the routine. I kept trying to read meaning into fragments, convincing myself the missing pieces were just timing, stress, fear. Anything but the truth.

I stayed longer than I should have, even when I felt invisible right next to them. I was in love with what they seemed like from the edge, and I kept holding onto smoke because it was easier than admitting there was nothing solid to hold.

“(YOU)” comes after this, when the fog finally lifts and the impact is real, how that connection rewired me, how I started recognising them everywhere, even in myself. If “In Love With Your Shadow” is the denial and the longing, “(YOU)” is the aftermath.
