As of January 16, 2013, our CEO Martin J Cowling am the Assistant Secretary in the Social Inclusion Unit and Office for the Not-for-Profit Sector in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet based in Canberra, Australia.
This is a great honour for him. He will step down from People First to focus on this new role.
The People First team will continue to roll out our great training and we have some exciting new services coming in 2013.

This year's UK Charity Online Index, an annual report that analyses the sector’s use of social media found the top five users of Social Media were:
1. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (currently 178 000 likes on https://www.facebook.com/Battersea
2. RSPCA https://www.facebook.com/RSPCA
3. RNLI (https://www.facebook.com/rnli) - this is one of their Facebook photos...great action shot
4. St John Ambulance
5. NSPCC - National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children
The Charity Online Index (http://www.thirdsector.co.uk/bulletin/third_sector_daily_bulletin/article/1164634/battersea-dogs-cats-home-made-best-use-social-media-2012-report-finds/?DCMP=EMC-CONThirdSectorDaily) uses data from Google, Brandwatch and Experian Hitwise to analyse how well charities engaged with social media between 24 August and 20 September.
The report says that animal charities attracted almost twice as many likes on Facebook as the average for all other charities
