Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation
The Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation was established to provide a platform for Nelson Alexander Real Estate staff to manage their participation in community service and fundraising events for local causes and worthwhile needs of our community
We are thrilled to announce that we've again been nominated in the Real Estate Institute of Victoria's awards for both the Community Service Award and Large Residential Agency of the Year Award. Our connection with the local communities we serve runs deep within our company’s culture, and we are active and passionate about delivering meaningful responses to the needs of worthwhile causes. Wish us luck!
Our annual Foundation Day is almost upon is. If you haven't seen it yet, check out our Charitable Foundation and see our staff in action - joining together to help support our local community.

One of our staff member's daughter Christina was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer earlier this year. She is only 11 and this diagnosis has changed her and her family's world. Nelson Alexander have set up a fundraising page for her and her family. Please take the time to read her story, if you can help in anyway it would be greatly appreciated.

It's that time of year again!! Nelson Alexander’s Foundation Day is the day that we do something special: It’s the day that each of our eleven offices donates the
professional fee from one of their auctions to the local community.
Foundation Day is an initiative of the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation, which was established, and continues to be managed by staff – maximising their participation in community service and fund raising events for worthwhile local causes.
Since its inception in 2005, the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation has been a resounding success and has distributed over $1 million dollars to our local community.

Here we all are last Thursday night at the MCG, huddling together before we lay down on cardboard to sleep for the night! The Sleep at the ‘G fundraiser was an unforgettable experience for our team and despite the cold, the snoring, and the sore backs, we are proud to have raised over $5000 to raise much needed funds to help end youth homelessness. We will definitely be signing up again next year! Enjoy our pictures from the night, and to make a donation or learn more about Melbourne City Mission, please see http://www.melbournecitymission.org.au

We’d like to introduce you to Felix and Chance.
Felix has a significant intellectual impairment, Autism and global developmental delay. He also has a high sensitivity to sounds – particularly crying babies and traffic noises – which cause him great distress and often result in an aggressive response. Through Dogs for Kids with Disabilities (DKD), Felix has recently been paired with a beautiful (breed) Chance who is training as a Companion Therapy Dog.
Chance is learning how to distract Felix when he becomes distressed and assist him with every day life. Within a week of their meeting, there was an immediate difference in Felix. He even slept in his own bed for the first time in six years (with Chance by his side!)
However, Chance is only on loan from DKD to see if he would be the answer. It sounds like he certainly might be, but the $3200 cost of this specially trained dog is difficult for Felix’s single-parent family.
The Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation was able to donate $750 to Chance’s training –
bringing him and Felix one step closer together.
