This NAIDOC Week, we pause and listen to the stories that have carried communities across generations. Stories of resilience, of culture held strong, and of voices that have shaped the path forward.

For 50 years, NAIDOC Week has been a time to gather, to celebrate, and to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their leadership, their connection to Country, and the strength that continues to guide communities today. It’s a moment to reflect on the journeys that brought us here, to stand in the present with pride, and to imagine the stories still to be told in the next 50 years.

OA in the media: Did you catch our latest feature in Mivision?

Optometry Australia CEO, Mark Nevin spoke with Mivision about OA’s next chapter as a united national organisation, and how this will support stronger advocacy, greater member value and better access to eye care across Australia.

The feature highlights OA’s focus on workforce planning, public hospital access reform, rural and remote eye care, First Nations eye health partnerships, and more direct member representation through the new national board.
