With some dinosaur🦕sized🦑🐙Squid & Cuttlefish about-nows a good time to top up some baits destined to be rigged n stitched up on spike jigs.

John Joubert first showed me this extremely effective method of rigging fresh baits for Sthn 🦑Calamari years ago now.

Dropped in to see Tommy The Big Fish, Fish Market Carrum Downs this 🌅morning & picked up some fresh silver-school whiting & Aust 🇦🇺salmon.

Rigged like this, there’s no water pressure when retrieving them or damage to gill region as it’s sewn🪡🧵shut to increase lifespan as a bait.

Placing-locating spike along back through the flesh retains a better grip on spike than when spike is placed through mouth-hollow stomach cavity & exiting the exhaust pipe💨

Rigged like above they can be fished under a📍float in a boat or landbased 💯or fished deeper on paternoster style rigs.
After use if bait(s) are still in good condition, they’re easily un clipped from swivel & bagged up to be ❄️refrozen n used another time no worries😃💯

Callum Hutchison & crew hopped aboard a super 🌫️fogged out port this morning.
⛳️…….🏌🏽‍♀️the guys knocked it outta the park with fantastic 🎣🔥action on huge school🦈shark followed up with 🎣🔥big gummy🦈
A HUGE🦑 cuttlefish around 5kg easily was another welcome treat from the deep.

There’ll be the 🤤aroma of fresh flake being fried a fair while eastward around Traralgon way for prob months to come💯😃

Hey all,

Bit of a long shot but here goes.
It’s funny how a simple shift in location can see things change quickly.

Last Mon evening 15th June I was at the Hastings boat ramp cleaning tables processing a tuna.
Somehow amongst all the activity there, I’ve left my much loved F-Dick honing steel on tables after finishing up.

Normally it would be packed away at end with knives into car.
With all the talk going on at tables, somehow this step was not completed.
